Once
For Once (2014), the delicate nature and transience of a blossom tree is translated as a series of sculptural artworks. A fragile representation of time and beauty.
Captivated by its grace and growth over the changing seasons, I have studied a blossom tree (in my garden) taking clippings and carefully drying the branches and blossoms – over time.
As the blossoms flourish and fall to the ground, they leave a delicate tracery of branches evoking a notion of impermanence. Viewers are invited to become lost in both the craftsmanship and physicality of these intricate, unrepeatable artworks.
