This collection is made using the Japanese Nerikomi technique. Restrained in palette and design, the artwork reveals a controlled methodology crafted with care. A fine organic dark seam, painted with porcelain slip is layered between contrasting pure white porcelain and then manipulated to a delicate thinness. The layered block in its early stage, resembles a large cliff face with a formation of geological deposits by the sea. The continuous line connects each object which is positioned for display to create an ethereal flow of the tide.

‘Tide’ has an understated elegance that draws the viewer closer to contemplate on the process of making and reflect on the work before them; in a state of harmony and stillness.
