Small Works Art Prize | 2023

The Small Works Art Prize is an annual exhibition from artists of all stages in their career exhibiting artworks that are small; measuring 35x35x35cm or less. My artwork ‘A study of pattern’ incorporates a round dish and plate made with the Nerikomi technique. Alternating layers of black and white clay are sliced, re-connected and re-sliced before being rolled to a refined thinness. The small dish is beautifully paired – placed on the black patterned plate – inviting the viewer to consider the meticulous detail before them.
